Our cabins are secluded for privacy featuring real logs and rock foundations, fireplace, central heat/air, covered porch with rocking chairs, a rear deck, and an area for campfires with charcoal grill.

Inside you will find hardwood floors, a real rock fireplace (with wood provided if wood-burning), log furniture, hand built rustic cabinets, and a fully equipped kitchen. Get the feeling of living in the past with all the modern amenities.

Belle Meade is a Bed & Breakfast, where guests can slow their pace, relax, eat delicious farm-fresh cuisine, lounge by the pool, sit by the wood stove in the parlor, enjoy a massage, and breathe. All bedrooms have private bathrooms.

We are in beautiful Rappahannock County near Sperryville, Virginia. We are close to Old Rag Mountain, Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park, several wineries, great antique shops, and excellent restaurants in Sperryville, Little Washington, Flint Hill, and Culpeper.

We’ve recently worked on filling out the beautiful outdoor area beside the cabin with a large campfire pit, free firewood (stacked and ready for you, look at pics) and hot tub. This yard area has beautiful views of nature.

Thomas Jefferson’s magnificent Monticello is a big draw here, and so is the woodsy Charlottesville KOA in the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills, where dogwoods bloom in spring and hardwoods blaze with brilliant fall colors. Graves Mountain Campground by Shenandoah National Park in the VA Blue Ridge is OPEN 365 days a year. Primitive camping. On an 1100 acre farm of woods, meadows, horses, cattle, and crops – all right under Shenandoah National Park in Madison County, Syria VA, On 25 acres of meadow and trees, we have camping  on a “pick your own place” basis.

Rich in history, this park provides recreational offerings that engage visitors and help connect them with farming practices that formed its unique pastoral landscape. This 1,860-acre park has scenic views, woodlands and the rolling pastures of a historic farm that captures the colonial through modern life of the Crooked Run Valley. Nature and history programs are offered year-round. Hiking, picnicking, fishing and primitive hike-in camping for families and groups are favorite activities in this peaceful getaway on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The park has 10.5 miles of bridle trails, 22 miles of hiking trails, 9 miles of bike trails and Appalachian Trail access.

Shenandoah River Raymond R. “Andy” Guest Jr. State Park, known generally as Shenandoah River State Park, is a state park near the town of Bentonville, Virginia. The park was established in 1994, and covers 1,619 acres along the South Fork Shenandoah River.

This park is on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and has more than 1,600 acres along 5.2 miles of shoreline. The park opened in June 1999. In addition to the meandering river frontage, the park offers scenic views of Massanutten Mountain to the west and Shenandoah National Park to the east. A large riverside picnic area, picnic shelters, trails, river access and a car-top boat launch make this a popular destination for families, anglers and canoeists. Ten riverfront tent campsites, a campground with water and electric sites, cabins, camping cabins and a group campground are available. With more than 24 miles of trails, the park has plenty of options for hiking, biking, horseback riding and adventure.

Our Name

The Candy Hill name comes from an interesting past. No, it is not what most guess, we are not candy givers nor are we a Christmas themed park. The truth behind the story is that years ago there was a farm house where our campground now stands and as a story book would say, there was a little girl who lived there. She had a dog who passed away and was buried on the hill behind the farm house and luck have it, the dogs name was Candy. From then on the hill was referred to as Candy’s Hill, hence our name, Candy Hill Campground.

Sherando Lake Recreation Area is known locally as the jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Devils Backbone Camp is a 73 site camp ground featuring full hook up RV sites, dry RV sites and primitive tent camping. Within walking distance to the Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewpub & Meadows, Devils Backbone Camp offers you a unique camping experience like no other. Cook breakfast over the fire pit at your site or walk over to the Summit for a cup of specialty coffee and local farm fresh eggs. The Stokesville Campground was called the Stokesville Park for 50 years and is still known as such by the locals. It is just a great place to spend the day. Let us know if you want to come ride – hike – relax or fish. You can pay our day use fee at the Stokesville Market from 6:30 am to 9 pm.  Pay AND obtain your pass before you enter. Anyone not doing so in this order can be charged with trespassing. The pavilion bathrooms are open.

Built in 1840, The Lafayette Inn is a historic landmark. It has served as a community centerpiece of the area accommodating the needs of stage coach travelers and local residents. The building has served as a hotel, restaurant, saloon, boarding house and as a hospital during the Civil War. In more recent times it housed the first Stanardsville telephone exchange and the local newspaper.

The Lafayette is designed in Federalist style with three levels and sweeping colonnaded porches. The frame is of hand-hewn mortise and tenon beams with fifteen-inch-thick walls of local red brick.

All of our cabins offer you the feel of a mountain cabin with knotty pine walls and ceilings, with rustic log exteriors. If you want privacy, then our rustic vacation mountain cabins are for you. Our cabins are not in big subdivisions where you have cabin beside cabin. They are private; they sit on 2 to 12 acres of quiet, wooded settings, with mountain views around you. No major roads close by so there isn’t any traffic noise. These are some of the nicest log cabins in our area.  A word about cleanliness. Rest assure that the cabins are clean. We pride ourselves on keeping it that way. We are a small owner of cabin rentals, and we clean them ourselves.

Here at Shenandoah Hills Campground, our sites are tucked away into a forest setting and are just waiting to become your cozy vacation home. Some of our sites have water and electric and our full hookup sites will easily accommodate larger RVs. We have 67 sites in all, as well as some rental units.

Camp OutBack has 25 wooded campsites under a canopy of hardwoods and white pines. The campground borders George Washington National Forest and has a walking trail to the Shenandoah River (1/4 mile). You can drive to boat landings within 1/2 to 1 1/2 miles. Camp OutBack is 10 miles from Luray and in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley close to Shenandoah National Park.

It’s hard to imagine, but the Shenandoah Valley was once the floor of a great inland sea. Centuries ago, as that sea receded, the forces of nature carefully etched out an awe-inspiring formation of solid rock. The seven Natural Chimneys tower as much as 120 feet above the pastoral terrain of the Shenandoah Valley, offering onlookers a sight unrivaled in majesty.

Viewed from one angle, the formations resemble enormous chimneys standing in bleak contrast to the greenery of the Valley. Take a few steps, though, and the chimneys are transformed into the massive turrets of a foreboding medieval castle.

Natural Chimneys Park in Mt. Solon, Virginia offers more than simply the splendor of towering limestone formations. Both day visitors and those who choose to stay overnight in the seasonal campground find plenty of space and opportunities for recreation, relaxation and fellowship.  The park is open for day use from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.
